“Teacher Heaven Classroom Makeover” Contest Rules
Contest will run Monday 7/19/10 thru Wednesday 8/11/10
1. How to Enter the Contest:
(a) “Teacher Heaven Classroom Makeover” online contest (hereby referred to as “Contest”) will run only on the dates listed above.
(b) To participate in the online contest, viewers must go to www.weareaustin.com between July 19 and August 11, 2010, and click on the Teacher Heaven icon, and enter to win a classroom makeover during the dates listed above.
(c) Four Points Media Group of Austin, Inc. (hereinafter “Station” or “KEYE-TV”) is not responsible for late, lost, stolen, misdirected, misaddressed, incomplete or illegible entries. Station is not responsible for technical or computer failures, errors or data loss of any kind, lost or unavailable Internet connections, or failed, incomplete, garbled or deleted computer or network transmissions, inability to access any Web site or on-line service, dropped cell phone calls, or dropped land line phone calls, phone line connections, or any other error or malfunction, or late, lost, illegible or misdirected entries. Entry materials that have been tampered with or altered are void. If the Station determines, in their sole discretion, that there is any suspected or actual electronic tampering with the Contest or if technical difficulties compromise the integrity of the Contest, the Station reserves the right to void the entries at issue and/or terminate the Contest and conduct a random drawing to award the prize among all eligible entries received as of the termination date. If the Contest is terminated due to tampering or technical difficulties prior to its conclusion date, notice will be posted at www.weareaustin.com. If, for any reason, the Contest is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of Station which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Contest, Station reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest. Station reserves the right to disqualify any entrant that tampers with the operation of the Contest or KEYE-TV website or violates the Official Rules of the Contest. Station further reserves the right to disqualify any entrant and/or entry at its sole discretion.
(d) Broadcasts are subject to preemptions and scheduling changes. If such changes occur they will be posted on the website: www.weareaustin.com
(e) Odds of winning depend on number of eligible online entries received.
2. Eligibility Restrictions:
(a) The Participants and winner must be U.S. residents at least 18-years old, live within the KEYE-TV viewing area (as determined by Nielsen); and have a valid contact phone number and email address. Employees of KEYE-TV, Nexstar Broadcasting Group Inc., Four Points Media, Cerberus Corporation, other television and radio stations in the Austin market, and their affiliates, subsidiaries and advertising agencies and their immediate family members or persons living in the same household are ineligible to participate or win.
(b) Only Pre-K through twelfth grade classrooms are eligible for the makeover. In order for entries to be considered eligible, the entrant must submit a photo of the classroom, up to fifty words as to why the classroom and the teacher should receive the makeover, or preferably both (the photo and the fifty word entry).
(c) The winner must be available to be on the Austin Live Show at the discretion of KEYE-TV (Austin Live airs 4-5p Monday-Friday).
(d) Entrants are eligible to win a KEYE-TV contest only once every sixty days. Only one winner per household is permitted in any contest. Viewers are eligible to win a prize valued at $600.00 or more only once every six months.
(e) By entering, entrants agree to abide by these rules, and grant to Sponsors the right to edit, publish, promote and otherwise use their entries without further permission, notice or compensation.
(f) The winner will not hold KEYE-TV liable for any technical error, or email loss of any kind. The winner will not hold KEYE-TV liable for not claiming the prize or any other incident leading up to claiming the prize. No purchase is necessary.
3. Prizes:
(a) The winner will be announced on Friday 8/13/10, from 4-5p on Austin Live. The winner will receive a classroom makeover, tickets to Our Body The Universe Within Exhibit, and an ice cream social for students. The average retail value for the prize is valued at approximately $599.
(b) Contest prizes are not transferable. Prizes may not be substituted for or redeemed for cash. Sponsors reserve the right to substitute prize of comparable value.
4. Selection of Winners: Decisions of Sponsors with respect to the contest are final.
5. Conditions:
(a) All federal, state and local taxes and incidental fees are the sole responsibility of the prize winner. The winner will be required to provide winner’s Social Security Number and/or a copy of current government-issued photo identification in such form as requested by KEYE-TV, and will be required to execute an affidavit of eligibility, liability release and W-9 tax form before the prize is delivered. In the event that Our Bodies Exhibit passes are emailed to the Winner, the Winner will accept the terms and conditions stated on the contest rules and the release form. The contest rules and the contest release form will be mailed to the winner at their written request,
(b) By participating in the contest, the winners agree to have their name, voice, or likeness used in any advertising or broadcasting material relating to this contest. By accepting the prize, each winner grants to Sponsors the right to use the winner’s name, voice, picture and/or likeness for purposes of advertising and publicity in any and all media now known or hereafter invented, without further permission or additional compensation (except where prohibited by law). All expenses on receipt and use of prize are the sole responsibility of winner. Winners, by acceptance of their prizes, agree to release Sponsors, Four Points Media Group, their respective parents and subsidiaries, and their respective advertising, promotion and production agencies from any and all liability, claims or actions of any kind whatsoever for injuries, damages or losses to persons and property which may be sustained in connection with the receipt, ownership or use of the prize or while preparing for, participating in, and/or traveling to any prize-related activity.
6. Sponsors reserve the right to make changes in the rules of the Contest which will become effective upon announcement.
7. No purchase necessary. The contest is void where prohibited by law.
8. Failure to comply with the contest rules may result in a contestant’s disqualification.
